BOND SESSION: Katherine & Eko (Hope Farm -Granville, OH)

July 20, 2025

When the skies opened up during Kate and Eko’s session, she could have called it. She could have asked to wait it out or moved to an indoor location. Instead, she did what horse girls do best, she rode it out. And honestly, I’m so glad she did. As the rain fell around them, it felt like the perfect backdrop for a relationship built on trust, humor, and heart. It smelled of petrichor and felt so beautifully grounded in the kind of love that says, ‘we’re in this together, rain or shine.’

Kate met Eko V, aka “Eko” as a quirky, green 8yo with big feelings and an even bigger personality.Their bond started on long walks and quiet afternoons at the barn. Years later, it’s grown into something deep, joyful, and fiercely loyal.

“Eko possesses the strongest emotions I’ve ever seen in a horse,” Kate shared. “He is goofy and full of life, and I’m always laughing when I’m with him. He’s also incredibly loving — but not everyone gets to see that side. If he lets you in, you’re in for life.”

I think you can see all of that in the photos, the gentleness, the trust, and how deeply he loves Kate in return. This session, in all of its drizzling, gray glory, felt like the perfect reflection of their story. A little messy, a lot meaningful, and filled with the kind of quiet moments that speak volumes.
